Relatively easy drive through maine, although I've decided we're not biking downeast maine - rolling hills, busy/narrow roads, no/bad shoulders, and very few towns and they aren't even cute. And no gas stations - I turned off the a/c and rolled down hills to ensure I'd make it to Calais. Temps dropped 30 degrees with ocean fog in st john - a beautiful city, 9.30pm sunsets, cool old architecture up on the bluff but seems underpopulated. Oceanview hotel room in my price range.
Driving through Nova scotia brings back memories of past trips- camping in my 20s with a gas can on the roof due to a busted fuel pump, the 'honey" camper in '05 and the 2nd ever bike tour in '15. Took a Google sanctioned shortcut to get on the seaside route 6, little did i know it would include 10km on a dirt road. Jean would not be surprised. Wish I'd been on my bike. Shabbos lunch in Glasgow Square in (new) Glasgow, then a ceilidh in Glendale on cape Breton. Left the car at blaine's parents house, then onto the ferry. A good day, 1.5 miles on the bike.
